MK3 Martini Makeover
I picked up my Mk3 Martini Yesterday and well lets say its seen better days. I plan to do a refurb and bringing it back to its former glory. Here are some ideas floating around in my head. 1. Keeping it original just reblue and tidy up original timber 2. rebluing and geting New woodwork in a fiddleback maple. 3. Bring it into the modern era and maybe getting a laminated stock made up. Any other thoughts ? It currently has a well worn cheek piece, has light surface rust to mainly the barrel, the sights are incorrect, scope blocks are missing. Cheers Ron

I like option 3 with the calibre of .20 Vartarg Turbo Rimmed. Make it the ultimate walk around single shot cat/fox gun

Here is how the woods come up after rubbing back 50 years of muck. The metal work will now be sent off for a Deep bluing. Cheers Ron

MK3 Martini Makeover
Ron,
The Martini's are a very unique firearm. How does it shoot...?

Hi Sean , ive only shot two targets with it. The 1st with can stuff just to get it on paper and the groups were ok. The next i used eley blk and WOW its definately a keeper. Your mate Steve has these two safe queens, i asked if he would sell, but he said they and his motor bike would be burried with him

Yes, I know that Steve has a couple of nice Martini's.
That one of yours should come up very nice.

Well after ALOT of sanding and more sanding of both metal and wood, i gave it to my mate for rebluing. Here is how she came out ready for another 50 years of shooting. Before and after photos. Cheers Ron

Thanks Dr G, I only did the sanding myself to save a few bucks, but it was hard boring yakka. My next project is doing the same to my Styer 300mtr rifle. Cheers Ron

Re: MK3 Martini Makeover
I am really jealous.
The Mk3 and the Sportco Clubman Martini were both so comfortable as prone rifles.
Wish I still had my martini clubman. Did a refurb of my Dads bolt clubman not long ago.
Great Job
