this guy reckons lemon, ok im going to try some lemon juice (half a cup in 700mls of warm water) and maybe with a few drops of dish washing soap, see what happens on a few .308 cases

it's amazing what a one dollar bottle of vinegar does.



I ran through some water and gave them a 3 minute fresh water cycle before putting the out to dry in my custom rack ( wood with nails in it ). Once dry I will re tumble them for the shine. Much happier with the job now. Water and dishwashing detergent really doesn't do it.


When I saw the water was like this, I knew it was going to be a lot better:

do they clean as good as they say they do..are they worth while getting

yesterday I was not so sure but the vinegar seems to be the difference so I would say they are most certainly worth the $25. I got two as I will probably experiment a bit and can afford to damage this one ( dunno how but was an excuse for a spare ) by trying out different solutions.

The best concoction I've found is 1/2 teaspoon Cream of Tartar and dishwashing liquid in 400ml container.

Gets the crud off and has no major acid issues like vinegar.

Yeah i just bought two from Aldi tonite. Had a play whith some rings and chains,not bad. Will throw some shells in tomorrow and see how they fair. Aldi had a pile there when i got mine.

alright, sold on the tartar and liquid detergent. I believe it actually cleans better as well as not having the acid problem.

The tartar and detergent works pretty well. Federal cases clean up really well but winchester cases must use a different primer compound cos it takes some getting off. Dunno if I should but I run fired cases through a cycle to clean the case mouth before decapping/resizing.

If I had an easier way of getting Mpro7 I would try it. I have read on other forums that is works really well.

thought this was worth ressurrecting. Dont forget to use bicarb to neutralise the vinegar and dry the case before they corrode

guys i tried in warm water 50mls lemon juice (1 lemon) and added 1 teasp powdered citric acid to strengthen the solution and it works fantastic! no need for detergent and no corrosion either .

the citric acid you get from Coles in the "cake making isle" where you find Creme of tartar
the citric acid already has bicarb soda in it!

they're not very big are they......
got 60 x 308 win cases to put through,when i get the primers out [and me finger]
