Re: Lazer sights ?????
I have a beamshot red dot laser on my Tikka T3 204ruger basically for under 20m point and shoot at pigs.
they usualy get attached by a figure 8 clamp to barrel or scope. some can attach to a rail.
there are usually 3 grub screws for adjustment. 1 is a lock screw that locks it all down (usually betwen the others) the other 2 are just like your scope adjsutments.
mount to your rifle and make sure you align the adjustment screws in the up/down left/right locations - makes it easier to adjust if it is not canted.
unlock the locking screw
look through the scope with laser on and adjust the laser dot to your 100m POI.
tip: when locking down the lock screw - you might move the dot... take note of the direction then undo and reajust then lock again till your dot is on your 100m POI
Another thing I use my laser dot for is range finding... If it is on at 100m then the red dot goes up and down the scope cross hairs depending if target is closer or further away. Range out 50m 100m 150m and 200m and look at the dot position in relation to the scope cross hairs then you can use this to range out you ferals.
Oh and good luck trying to see the red dot at 100m in daylight.
you can see how I mounted mine:

I have a similar setup on my Rem 700 in 204 but mine is a green laser, much better in light conditions, I can easily see the dot out past to 250m through the scope on a overcast day, but mainly use it at night under spot light and it doesn't get lost in the spot light like a red laser can if you have a bright spot light.

Re: Lazer sights ?????
can I ask where you blokes got these (feel free to PM if necessary), I am particularly interested in the green laser due to the red dust conditions out my way. I want to mount one on the shottie and use another on a tripod to assist in feral cat recovery at longer ranges.

Dealextreme have them - Chinese and about $40 for a green unit with a Weaver type mount on it. Whether you get it into the country is another thing entirely...

Re: Lazer sights ?????
picked up my red dot lazer from bathurst [gunsmoke]
ive seen them in several gunshops.
spend the money doc,ive seen the cheap ones give a dot the size of a caravan at 120 yrds.
mine stays small and bright way past that.
cant remember the brand and wont be home for a couple weeks yet to look at it.

Re: Lazer sights ?????
how would a blue laser go instead of a green? in this vid im not suggesting this is good for shooting but they do exist and you can see what it looks like!

Re: Lazer sights ?????
that looks pretty good marko, might be ok for hunting if you could mount it in something like a cheapy shop penlight.
