Hi All,
I'm thinking of getting a model 70, either upgrading my Ruger Hawkeye SS 30-06 to a M70 Extreme weather SS. Or buying a M70 featherweight in .243 or 7mm08.
Has any one here got any experience with the new FN manufactured Winchester M70's?
Cheers
Dan

Sorry ... I'm a Ruger fan. BUt if I had the money and inclination ... I think the FN built M70s are the best there has ever been. FAR better than the pre-64s.

Have 4 Model 70's Dan, all of them are great shooters. A push feed in .22/250 Ackley, Supergrade Classic in .240Wby Mag, Classic 7mm Rem Mag Stainless and one of the new FN Supergrades in .300 Win Mag. The Extreme Weather is a nice bit of gear and well worth the small asking price when compared with the other major brands. The FN Supergrade compares more than favourably with the Sako Deluxe.....at less than half the price.

Thanks for the replies,
I have had a look at the gun shop the other day, I like the featherweight. Do you know if the featherweight has alloy floor plate and trigger guard?
