Epoxy Rifle Bedding Second Try: How to doc now included
Hi fellas,
Had another go at bedding a rifle today. The Sako 75 is a fair bit more complicated to bed than the Sako A1 I did first.
I think it worked out pretty well, concidering the complexity of the 75's reciever. Here's some quck photos.
This is one crazy recoil lug! Pink plasticine is to make a void for the grub screw which holds the recoil lug in.
Not so great close up of the recoil lug bedding, after first fitting of tha barrelled action. Poor angle photo it is cleaner than it looks in the photo.
Middle and tang showing all the gaps left out for the safety, bolt release etc.
Devcon made its way through the bolt holes. Pillar bedding?
All fitted togeather Looks good, but how will it shoot?
I did try to video document the process, it was a bit of debacle. Pretty much needed a second person to do camera work.

Wish I could get a bedding that job looking that nice. I've been too hesitant to try it out myself.
Great work and thanks for the pics to help show what you did.

Compared to your results, my bedding efforts have been less e-poxy, and more......, well......, just plain poxy!

Google Docs to the rescue. You can find the blow by blow instructions here:

Always wanted to visit up there, now got a reason to go, brain picking. Great job mate, and the info provided has got me thinking, maybe I can have a go as well. Good concise directions are a great help.

130 views so far. Must be a few people interested I would love to hear some feedback or some photos of bedding jobs. I can also answer any questions people have.

Dan
Ps. When I get hold of another project rifle or even shotgun I will do a DIY Slow Rust Bluing guide. That will really knock your socks off!
