Re: Eley ammo
I was at Victorian Arms yesterday (the commercial arm of the importer Parrabellum) and asked... apparently the chinese have placed a massive order and all other production has stopped while they fill it. They aren't even prepared to guess when supply will resume.

Re: Eley ammo
I did hear that, the chinese we taking mass amounts of eley mainly black for training for the olympics. But one would think eley would had know this was going to happen and step up production for awhile to cope with it.
I have also heard that their is an disagreement with eley btw parabellum and nswsarai, and it could be feb befor we may see any.
I hope you rimfire shooters have plenty in the safe.

Re: Eley ammo
Parrabellum have lost the Eley account...The TRA will be selling Eley but wont have any for a while because of the delays shipping out of England.

Steve how sure are you of this?? And yes will the price be going down also??
Re: Eley ammo
Most of the other posts are what I am hearing:
More rumors
1: Cecil Park due to get a Eley shipment very soon, from current supplier, one would assume they have a shipment landing very soon if not on the Docks.
2: First TRA shipment not due till December, will not be any Red Box in the shipment, none available because of the Olimpics.

Brett I was told becasue of the disagreement btw parabellum and tra they didnt send the order (4 pallets) which Aust was due to have, until it is sorted out btw parabellum and tra. Do you know anything about this. And tra is taking it over by what you just said

Re: Eley ammo
Spoke to the Parrabellum rep a few weeks ago about what was going on with Eley ammo and was told the head boys for their company were heading to England to chat with Eley...also had a director of the TRA in the shop 3 days ago and he confirmed that they are taking over the Eley distributorship and are working out the fine details for selling Eley around the country to shops etc.

Re: Eley ammo
No Knowledge of any disagreement, but I do not know anybody at Parabellum, My eley source has passed comment on the other fourm in regards to Native's question.
From Bill Collaros
"Nswsarai have not sent anything back and had no disagreements with anyone. You will find by early next year Aus will have a greater selection at cheaper prices BUT there is currently a shortage of Tennex (probably due to olympics next year) and that we wont see more Tennex till late Dec or early in the new year."
Now I thought it was the national Body TRA, maybe it is the NSW body, either way it is going to happen.
I know I am building my new rifle for Eley on the thought it will be availble at better prices, and when I had dinner with the Eley Sales manager and General Manager, I was truly impressed.
Regards Brett

Re: Eley ammo
Hopefully any new importer will get some 17M2 ammo.
Parabellum were not very helpful. "will be here in the next 3 months"
Rang back 6 months later and got the same response.
Rang back again 3 months later and got "Eley can't export hunting ammunitions like the 17M2 only Target ammo".
Hmmm but America can get decent supplies of it for a company that can't export it from the UK
What about the subsonic HP, it is a hunting round.
Gave up on the idea of ever seeing it on the shelves of a LGS.

Re: Eley ammo
So brett you know for a fact that parabellum will lose it and tra will pick it up?
I really hope the cheaper prices part is right. Lol

Re: Eley ammo
NO, I am not privy to any contracts so it is all just rumors. I have no knowledge of Parabellum activities at all. But am pretty certain the Small Bore Group (National or state) will be importing Eley ammo and it should be at a better price.
Parrabellum may continue to import some as well, but without seeing the words in contracts its all up in the air.
Regards Brett

The food was great, best feed while in the USA, but it was the conversation about the way they make ammo and thier passon for the business that impressed me.Chriswillis696 wrote:So brett you know for a fact that parabellum will lose it and tra will pick it up?
