Ultrasonic Cleaner - Heads Up

Hi Guys,

Not sure if this stuff has been mentioned before- didn't read all the posts- but has anyone used 'Simple Green' (citrus degreaser I think)? At work we use it diluted in hot water and it takes heavy carbon build-up off in a matter of minutes.

Where do you get that stuff mate?

Not sure where from sorry. Probably Blackwoods I expect but you could try an industrial supplies company. We buy large qtys also (200 litre drums of the stuff).
I have seen small spray bottles of it in Bunnings though (household cleaning section).

my unit max cycle is 480 seconds. Things are shiny with cold water after 480 seconds.

My normal routine is vinegar with a dash of soapy water. Rinse under the tap then run thru again in bicarb to neutralise the acid in the vinegar, rinse then blow dry with a hairdryer.

I was told to try adding the bicarb to the vinegar. Only tried it once but got the shiniest brass ever!!

I have used the Vinegar and dish soap formula. I only use 250ml vinegar, and the rest is hot water. Cleans all the crud out of my snider cases and makes them look like new.

The rinse step after the bicarb is necessary, otherwise a fine powdery residue is left. Annoying.

it does clean them but I'm anal so the sinclair tool goes into each pocket too, like it takes a second each

Yeah got myself a sinclair tool..... bloody good. Also found that if have the brass "standing" it gets the pockets really clean without the tool. However it also means you have to take the time to put each case in. Works out longer to do that so just use the sinclair tool. However I reckon a rack that would hold cases upright and allow them to be tipped over would be really good.
