Hopefully you have the 300m on sunday so I can make this my first flyshoot.I just do not know whether to use the 20PPC or the 6x47L I may pick the calibre depending on the day

Wagga 500/300m FLY 27-28th August 2011.
Looks like I've been outvoted up here and they will run the 500 on SUN if the range is ready.
I'm with you guys and reckon 500 on sat but the organizers reckon they will go with 500 on Sunday and seek feedback from shooters on the day which is better.
We had rain here sat so hopefully the dozer can still get in on Monday.
Missed, bring both guns if u like.

If the range is up and going at 500m, let me know please. Two of us will come up and test it out for you guys before hand
I have not even got a scope yet..... hmm
What is the reasoning behind running 500m on Sunday? If I had a 4-5 hour drive home, I know I'd like to leave by 3pm rather than 5pm.. considering you would have been awake since early that day and driver fatigue???
Cheers

Wagga 500/300m FLY 27-28th August 2011.
Despite the rain the D8 dozer started moving some of the 1500m3 of dirt today. Will take some photos on Sunday to show the progress.

Re: Wagga 500/300m FLY 27-28th August 2011.
On the subject of which range to shoot on which day I am of the opinion that it should be 300 on Saturday and 500 on Sunday. The reason is that if there is to be a 'Grand Agg' or 'Two-Gun' then it would probably be decided by the 500 results and we would not want to go into the second day with someone literally having it in the bag since the 300 scores are usually very close. I refer you to the experience of traditional benchrest (100 & 200) where the longer range most times generates the overall winner on the day and at Nationals level all matches now must be run in that order. As for early departure - the only difference in time is the extra travel for the target crew. Depending on the condition of the track this should never be more than half an hour at the end of the day, hardly enough to make a difference to anyone. The time it will take competitors to dismantle their flag set-ups etc will be easily covered by the time it takes the target crew to do their last run and in turn the scorer to complete his tasks. Please consider the above.

The Blue Heeler tells me all the earth works are done and they just have to stand the frames for the targets, so its looking pretty good, Chop.
