Hi all, only a few days to go, still a few spots available in the Fly if you've got the ammo and a 500m zero!
Cheers.

First off a huge thanks to the Canberra SSAA esspecially Tiger and Mick for a great day. Anyone who thinks the 500m fly is easy is kidding them selves. Thanks also to Peter procal for being the major sponsor and giving away some great prizes. Hope to see you all at the federal cup next year.

Gidday Deano, yes, it was a top day !!!!!!!!!!! I think we should start up a secret society, as this Fly shooting is getting way too popular.
Heaps of shooters present yesterday, although many of the usual shooters were absent, anyway, coming nearly last is a good excuse to build up a new rifle. What's that saying about a bad tradesman blaming his tools?
Cheers Malcolm

I think the saying goes if your tools don't work get bigger ones lol. I believe everyone had a hard day, might be time to invest in some wind flags or a bullet which isn't affected by wind

It was a tough day .... I shot over wind flags and was careful and thought I shot well.....but only got 190 something.....
conditions were bloody tough..
Still, you don't need any excuse for a new rifle.... Go for it... tell the missus you need a new bigger better one just to compete.....
Its always good fun though... Pete shot well to get 220+ though.
Cheers

Low scoring match.... very, very windy, cold and changeable.
Pete VM won with his light gun entry (dasher) 220 odd (221-224 I think).... Bloody good shooting in the conditions.
Not sure on the rest of the scores, bit hard to interpret the score sheets, but I am sure it will all be up on Les's web site (500mflyshooter.com.au) in a few days.
There was a great crowd and lots of fun despite the Canberra winter conditions.
Cheers

HG. Jason Trotter (7mm Shehane). 228.5
Mick Farr (300WSM ?). 228.2
Tyson Trotter (6.5x47?). 217 ??
Small group Jason T. 1.5" ??
Best target. Jason. T. 55.2
LG. Pvm (6.5/284). 221.3
Jason Trotter (6.5x47). 212.2
Renee Guidotti (6mm Dasher). 201.1 ?
Small group Patricia Bernard 1.9". ??
Best target Jason T. 51.2 ?
Sorry to let you down Trev - needed a bit of extra HP on the day.
As you can see, Melbourne Benchrest Club members ( all from Geelong and district - Go Cats), dominated. 8 of the 10 available trophies making the long trip down south. I think the experience gained shooting in crap conditions at Little River was of some help.
