Back from the range in between the wind gusts & the showers I managed to get it sighted it, wasnt easy though weather is full on here atm.

Seems the milling the Gunsmith did has done the trick, got it shooting 1 inch high at 100m zerod for 200m. The Ballistic compensator on the reticle seems to work well with hittting & knocking over silhouette targets at 200m ,300m, 400m. Only hit the ram at 500m didnt knock him over.

Was a good result at the range!.

Used the Highland 90Gr to get me on paper, prolly wont buy them again, didnt impress.
Shot the Winchester 80Gr & got great groups & used them to knock over the steel at stated distances & would buy again.
Yet to try the Remingtons, Hornady or the Federal. For the $30 price tag the Winchesters impressed me, not sure if the extra $12/box for the Hornady & Remingtons is worth it but will have to find out next time down the range. Good excuse to go :)

One thing though i have found with firing a 243, you dont get to see the money shot, I mean, with the 22 WMR you can see everything, target being hit & falling over. With the 243 no matter how I tried the recoil & hi mag zoom would jolt me off target & by the time I could get back on target all the action was over. :(

Yeh mate it happens when you burn a heap more powder. Also the light sporter barrel and synthetic stock rifles will move around a bit more. The 308 has no chance of seeing hits, but the 20 practical turns me into one of those sick pricks that like to watch
