Read anything you can find on Benchrest Reloading it all translates as far as the techniques go. The fun is in the calibre & case selection, rifle build and wind reading

ohh and anything by that bloke from Townsville with the chicken legs might be worth a glance ..

This is one of those topics where everyone has an opinion and those opinions can be further split on each and every single aspect of long range shooting. My views are that no matter what you do in this world, it all starts with a hole. How perfect that world is is governed by the tolerances you place on that hole. That the only way to create a rifle capable of shooting small aggregates and high scores is to learn all about holes, tolerances and concentricity, and then spending time behind the rifle to learn when not to shoot as opposed to when to start, always trust that last sighter, never ever aim off if you want to shoot small, and that if you snooze, you lose.

In regard to Litzs' book, i would be interested to see who or how one could do better at long range competitive shooting by reading it considering it has zero information about actual rifle or component preparation or development, and even less on how to shoot through conditions like mirage etc. However it does have a great data base of real world bullet BCs obtained through Dopler radar readings, as well as a brilliant program for calculating bullet trajectories. Then there is the very extensive mathematical analysis of a bullets flight path derived through various computer models. This is all useless stuff except for those wishing to expand their ballistic knowledge through the written word and not through actual experience.
It is your choice but don't expect to be the next Klien or Bartholomie through the reading of this book. I found that this book is more a case of learning more and more about less and less until one eventually winds up knowing absolutely everything about nothing.

I think you just summed up the KPIs and data gathering systems of more than a few of Australias top 40 listed companies there!
