Hi all

I’m considering about moving to the Bathurst NSW, looking for info on rifle clubs, want to practice short range c/f benchrest, load development for 500m fly and rimfire benchrest. i know mudgee will cover these but am looking for a closer range

Hi Steve,

I am in Orange 50km down the road.
Bathurst has a CF Range, I have not shot there but understand they do not hold comps. Local shooters wanting to shoot longer range shoot up in the mountins Springwood I think.
Orange has a really strong RF club we shoot comp 3rd Sunday of the month, Field rifle and bunny guns in the morning and IRB BR guns in the afternoon. We have 3 shooters that travel to all the major shoots on the east coast if you want some seriouse RF BR.
Parkes CF guys shoot at Eugowra bit of a drive but a good crew.
We could catch up when you move out might even be able to organise some spotlighting.

Bathurst SSAA have a 100m baffled range, covered with benches. No comp shooting in rifle only pistol and shotgun.
Would be a good range for RF BR but wont ever happen.

Nearest SSAA range worth using for 500 Fly practice is Canberra 3 hrs drive or join the NRAA and shoot at Lyndhurst out to 1k not BR though and last I looked TRA & F standard was the limit of Comp they may be up to F open now not sure.

I did a google search and found Bathurst pistol club and the fullbore club, This 100m range, where’s it at exactly, is it the same venue as the pistol club?

Yes mate the SSAA complex is altogther and is accessed via the NRAA range gate.
Your at Picton mate why dont you come down to Batemans Bay for a shot.
Looking at a club Fly shoot end of the monthish ... Fox shoot every 2nd weekend (shot at 100m Rim Fire, 200, 300 & 500 Centre Fire
