This year I have made the choice to support my girls playing football(soccer) seeing as they have made it into development and play on the first sunday of the month(which is the same day as club shooting comp),that and club soccer on saturdays takes up a fair bit of time.
Well seeing as its the school holidays and no soccer I went to the port club on Saturday morning and had a muck around,I seen a TRA target that some of you shoot there,well I had a go at it with my light gun and some Lapua pistol match and did Ok I thought,here is a pick of the target................................and no it wasn't scored because I can not actually compete as I am not a member of their club
next time I will try my heavy gun and see how that goes.
Thanks Vicfox,Hmmm brilliant....................................well it would have been if they were all in the centre ....quarter the circle and a survey of the flags,adjust hold off then slap the trigger ,I am finally getting close to feeling confident/comfortable with my little light gun that Shane built for me late last year,I feel it's definately going to be a keeper.

Hey Damien,I agree it wasn't to bad at all really though I must admit the breeze that was there on the day was constant and only slight so that helped heaps ,I will try it with a bit more glass soon hopefully or possibly someone on the forum might use it at Narrandera in a couple of months................................will have more scope on it then for sure.
Chris I am hearing you on the 2000 series actions,I have never been compelled to change over from the round 54 action and my light and heavy are based on the round action,I am starting down the full custom rimfire action road,6 O'clock pin stike and all....................................................Ooooops see the new dual F/P strike proto type has had a big win in the States......................Ok sheeple the line starts here ....................Ohhhh dear.

You need to ask yourself where does the powder sit within the case in a chambered round? At the bottom of the case (at 6 o'clock)? or defying gravity and resting on the top of the case (12 o'clock)?
The idea is to hit the rim and start the ignition right where the powder is.
AhhhHaaa the hype you ask,weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel.................it goes something like this.....................Im not sure myself really ,I do know that ignition plays a big part in rimfire accuracy and the theory is that for all these years we have been using the 12 F/P where the flame front is above the powder that is laying at the bottom of the case.
well now with a 6F/P strike the flame is ignited at the base of the powder as in some way is supposedly better,Eley priming compound is inserted and spun around the inside of the case and once ignited it races up either side of the base of the case,how much difference this makes I have no idea but it sounds like good logic to me.
I cant see it being any worse and the thing is that there are so many variables that it may be hard to define the advantages if there is any.
