Whats a tube gun?

I had one. A little heavy for what I wanted, and since I often shoot in the ACT the pistol grip made it a PITA. (Pistol grip = prohibited firearm in the ACT).

ACT Firearms Act 1996, page 194, Schedule 1, Item 12

12 a firearm, other than a pistol, fitted with a pistol grip or stock that is specially designed so as to be readily detachable, or to operate on a swivel, folding or telescopic basis

that is fairly simple to overcome, fill it with glue and screw it up. when tis dry its not readily detachable.

G'day Fellas,

I can understand if the rifle has a designated purpose such as 'target shooting' however, when you see some of these rifles on the firing line that have 4 rails, strobe lights, hand grips and all of the other attachments not excluding 10-15 round magazines, muzzle brakes or fact that they can be shortened at the pistol grip by removing the rear section of the stock it's rather chilling.

Pistol grip gets the prize. Stupid law, but I live in NSW, but my closest range is in the ACT.

Adopting my quisling hat, I have some rapport with Bart in that other thread where he copped some flak at the suggestion of negotiating outcomes instead of adopting a negative approach to every issue. I also have some rapport with California in trying to stem the proliferation of assault weapons in the community. The comment by Sean above is not entirely inappropriate either........

Anyone seen/used/got one? Would love to have a go at one before buying a tube stock. Like the minimalist look but don't know if it would suit to my style of shooting (out of a window or prone)

Well I emailed them about it......it will be staying where it is..... $1400-1500. Call me nieve but how the hell can a tube of aluminium and a block, but through a CNC machine be worth that much????

I agree with you Plowboy.

It seems to be the norm now for stocks to be $1000 and above, usually a fair bit above, even up to $2000.00!
The MAK tube gun stock is a perfect example of gouging!

I suppose they think it is a fair price and if people pay it then they will continue to charge these prices!

It would be interesting to see what the mark up is
