500mt Fly Records

Post by petevm »

Hi all,

As you will be aware the 500mt Fly is now an official SSAA event, the interim rule book having been accepted by the Benchrest Delegates committee. As a consequence the National Scorer/keeper of records (currently Max Coady) is obliged to keep track of any records scored in these matches. As from the start of this year matches have been able to be 'Registered" and it is only at such matches that claims for new records can be lodged. However we need a starting point and as such the records set prior to this time will be recognised. Such records can have been set at any properly constituted match so long as they were documented in some way or another and, if need be, witness's can attest that the score/group was actually set. Following is a listing of what I think are the current records but I would appreciate all assistance in getting it squared away before we meet in Canberra for the Federal Cup in March -

Heavy Gun

Total Score - Ian Davis 261.?? Batemans Bay 2008
Best Target - Stuart Elliot 59.3?? Tamworth?? 2001??
Small Group - Peter van Meurs .960" Canberra 2002

Light Gun

Total Score - Peter van Meurs 246.0 Eagle Park 2010
Best Target - Fergus Bailey 59.2 Eagle Park 2008
Small Group - Chris Rigby 1.213" Canberra 2001

Please help update and/or correct these if you have any knowledge on the subject

Hi Pete , Only thing i can add is 261.4 for Ian .. I have always looked at the Group agg and the highest # of points gained for the group section and Ian D holds both from that 261.4 weekend in BB, he went 2.161 for group agg with a total 41 group points , they will be there a while too i reckon..JR..Jeff Rogers
