Bump.

I would like to know too. Compared to the other electronic gismo throwers on the market. I have heared they are all too slow. Should i stick with my old mechanical thrower?

I haven't seen any reports of broken or defective units yes the rcbs unit can be programmed to be faster but so can the hornady unit it has 3 speed settings i posted a review i found on youtube here is the link

I have the Hornady...it does the job pretty well...takes less then 10 seconds to throw a charge depending on which trickle speed you set it to...the scales are very accurate when I compare them to other digital scales...there are things that take some time to work out, like which trickle speed to use for different styles of powder...I am very happy with mine.

FWIW it comes out as qute a favorable review but not so biased that it dosent list the shortcomings as well

I have one, pretty nice to use but it crapped out on me, thankfully Cleavers have replaced it under warranty straight up. Despite that, I'm stoked to have it, sure as hell beats the (rather variable) RCBS thrower aand trickler.

Have just had my first proper session with the Hornady and it worked really well. Throwing 25.8g of 2206 for my 20 Prac I had it set on slow speed and timed nicely to seat a projectile before the next beep. It threw over a couple of times but once I got the settings right was very consistent. Just wish I'd had one years ago when I squeezed triggers alot more often!

I just upgraded my old Lyman thrower to a new Hornady LnL thrower (one of the mechanical types). Best money I have spent so far in reloading gear to date. I loaded 300 .223 rem in about an hour and a half which is fast for my old crusher press. As fast as i could load the tray and throw the charge and seat rhe projies. I was using BM2 which works well in a thrower. I had 100% accuracy in the 15% of throws that I weighed for QA. I will be intrested to see how it works with the longer stick powders.

I am still yet to try an electronic thrower which I which I reckon would be awsome for load development. But from what i have read the electric jobs are not as fast as the mechanical types yet. So dont throw your old throwers away just yet.
