Looks like my son and I are going to get away the weekend after this one !!!
The Field Hunters Group are planning a weekend which will involve a bit of spotlighting ...I'm told.
My dilemma... do I get a Lightforce 'Walkabout' which is hand-held only; or a Lightforce 'Nighthunter' which I can use as handheld (with an optional handle) or rifle mounted ???? just over $100 diffence between them.
Your thoughts and/or personal experiences.....
CHEERS !
ps. "I'm excited !!"

Re: Spotlight dilemma...
Ive got one my my sparky mate made up for me it's a normal roof/scope mountable one with a ciggy light attachment and a small NiCad battery very handy if you go out by yourself you can screw on the gun and have both hands to shoot with. Unless you only hunt in pairs id go with the hands free option or you go with a good led torch like a wolfeyes and save heaps of weight and get better brighter light for around the same money

Re: Spotlight dilemma...
I have the Lightforce NightHunter. Text below is taken from their website:
THE NIGHTHUNTER KIT IS THE ULTIMATE SYSTEM FOR HUNTERS WORLDWIDE
Choice of two complete systems ready to go anywhere in a quality rugged carry case to keep you organised!
The ‘NIGHHUNTER’ is the ultimate solution for remote mounting a spotlight on any firearm or bow. The shooter has a choice of either the compact ‘Predator’ or RMSM140 spotlight. Both lights feture optimum output bulbs to work efficiently with the battery system, giving the shooter maximum mobility and shooting time, included is a shotgun, rifle or universal bow mount bracket, 9 Amp Hr battery, mains battery charger, ‘PRO’ quality battery carry bag (optional dimmer control). A virtually unbreakable CLIP-ON red filter is supplied, ideal for the observation of light shy game.
NOTE: KIT INCLUDES EITHER A PREDATOR OR RMSM SPOTLIGHT (NOT BOTH) The Predator version is suited to air rifles, light caliber rifles and bow applications. RMSM140 is suited for use on most rifles and shotguns.USA version does not include mains battery charger (12 v incl.)
Dont get the 35w version that I did.

Re: Spotlight dilemma...
yes, its good, but not as good as your big ass spotlight (which I'll be getting one of soon). Now we went out about a fortnight ago. This time the farmer was driving and he bogged the ute. He wouldnt give up tho, the 3 k walk back was still spotlighting with the sea lion. He knew exactly where the foxes were. the sea lion was up for it but the 6/250 was built for firing off a bipod ( doesnt it piss you off when people say bipods. there is only one of them) and the foxes were there but I couldnt get a steady shot!!
