Just wanted to advise that the February 550yd match this weekend for Townsville has been cancelled. Someone said it was going to be a bit windy over the next few days

How many MOA of windage would you need to wind on for 180kph winds?
I've got relos up in Mission Beach - hope all of you up there in TSV are ok!

Al, you got power?
My blokes should be in or near Townsville tonight. Very messy from what I have heard from people up there. The commercial media are reporting like idiots as usual.
At a quick calculation, around 70min hold off at 1000y in 200k winds, good old 284 with 175's.
Hope all is well.

Hi Cameron
Yeah had a few of the boys out of the south working with me over the past day and a half. Had one team spend all day today trying to get one street back up in the air after the trees wrote off most of the poles and all the conductor. Tomorrow sees them move one street over and experience a case of dejavu One pole is a concrete Tx that was lifted out of the sandy soil which unbelievably only destroyed the Tx and hardware when is layed down. I am currently trying to repair northward, palleranda, rowes bay, belgian gardens, a bit of west end, garbutt and palm island.
I was on the iPhone last night to see what chit chat was happing on the forum and actually am a lucky one who got their power back very late today so I have only been three days without power. Amazingly there were a couple of feeders which didn't go off at all lucky bugga's

Yep,
I'm one of the lucky buggers, been helping out the likes of Tony Z and aJR. We all survived, but the trees will take years to recover.

Well thanks to Jeff i got the hell out the place and let the likes of the Ergon guys do their job without me sitting around waiting for the power to come back on at the workshop. So again thanks to Jeff and his lovely wife Claire.
So i have bugged off down to Alan Hs' property to do some serious testing out to 1K with the new LG. Conditions here are like a wind test tunnel, no wind, no rain, mild weather considering i am less than a 150 ks from home. You would never know that a cyclone had been in the place. I aint gong home till i've shot some pigs and some small groups at 1k. The beauty of cyclonic weather is that the storm fronts that follow on from a big blow just settle things down to such a perfect level that the testing conditions have to be seen to be believed. JR and i have talked about this in years gone by and have waited for this sort of event to happen for a long time. I am certain that the remainder of the year should see some very stable weather which i strongly believe will will show up in the aggregates at years end.
The bad side is the poor neighbors up the highway a bit have been hit pretty hard. So we all hope for a quick recovery for all those less fortunate.
