Yeah, all my good stuff has been using the black carriers. The 157445 ammo had the powder changed, and it was acrid and black, but the 173435 ammo was more whitish, and the smell was sweeter.

What's the go with the Olymp-R ammo? I've not heard of any problems with it...

Tell me more about the Olymp-R?

I have a small supply of it and have had no dramas as yet.

Sorry Guys I forgot about the Olimp_R quip.

There is no problem with the ammo, I love it and was thinking about using it in the USA this year.
I was reading the WRABF rule book for the third time and noticed a stange rule that read that and shooter using ammo not purchased from a regular outlet would be DQed.
Olimp-R is not available in the US or Europe, we are lucky to have it. So I sent a question to a member of the WRABF who confirmed if a protest was made I could be DQ'ed.
I raised this point on a thread on another fourm and started a bit of a stir. I thought Bec might have been reading thats all.

Surely that rule was more to stop potential reloaders with the appropriate kit to reload/hand manufacture 22LR ammo...

Sure Olymp-R is hard to get, but it's hard to get because its Russian ammo...

It shot ok through my rifle, Brett - was very similar to my favourite batch, and actually shot to the same POI too! But there were flyers in there - may have been tunable, but I only had 50 rounds to play with. That stuff is _expensive_ !! I can afford some bricks of X-Act, but $40+ a box of Olymp-R???

The first shipment of 10 Falcon Rimfire actions have landed, along with 10 Broughton barrels, hopefully you will start to see these rifles on the firing line soon.
The Falcon I tested in the USA was very smooth, I am looking forward to having mine finished.
The second order of 10 are in production at the moment and I belive there are at leat 3 others that have been ordered into Australia so there will be plenty around very soon.

Hi Native,

Yes the Hall is for sale while I work on these Falcon actions.

I spent 3 years getting the Hall up and running and qualifing for WRABF in the USA.
The next 3 years will be getting Falcon actions up and running for 2015 in Brisbane.
The plan is to build a heavy gun first and I have a Repeater on order as well.
So I went shopping while in the USA to add to some Aussie bits.
1 X Falcon Single shot Right bolt Left Port 6 O'clock F-pin + Jewell
2 X Custom Ironbark / Tassie oak Bigstick stocks. (1 for heavy the other 10.5 hopefully)
1 X Broughton 4c 0.9" Straight barrel
1 X Shelin Ratchet 0.9" Straight barrel
1 X Shelin Poly 0.9" Straight barrel
1 X Rock Creek 0.85" 6 Groove cut rifled (10.5lb rifle)

1 X Falcon repeater, Right bolt left port 6 O'clock F-pin + Jewell
1 X Shelin Ratchet 0.9" Calfee profile barrel
Still to buy a stock, will fit this action to a spare stock for a while.
Still to buy a scope, might try and make weight with a scope I have.

I have ordered a new reamer I want to try and will be moving to using Eley ammo only.
I am guessing it will take at least 18 months to get everything built and sorted to shooting at the level the Hall was but I have the time.

Brett do you know if the actions have the updated firing pin assy's,apparently there is a hold up on the ones that havent been shipped as they are modifiying them............something to do with increasing the mass/weight of the pin.

Hi Chris,

I had a long chat to Leonard and Johnathan from Baity's while I was in the USA.
I understand there is a differance between the first order and the second in regards to the FP assembely but I thought that was already in production.
I have tested 2 Falcons from the first order and the FP hit is huge, not certain I would want it any bigger. Maybe they are slowing it down and adding more mass.
At this stage the second order has not been held up by Baity's at all. I have had 2 other hold ups, the first has been sourcing a barrel in the USA, I had 8 from 9 sorted but the last could not be found even when I placed the order 6 weeks before I went to the USA. Lucky that barrel was for me and I have changed the order to a barrel that is in stock.
The second this is the Aussie paperwork, it has taken over 8 weeks to get Department of defence approval, that has only just been sent to the USA for them to get the export lic.
I am emailing Johnathan daily at the moment, I will ask about the FP.
