Falcon Rimfire action

Post by Brett33 »

I am about to order a couple Falcon rimfire actions and am wondering if anybody else is keen.

All you need to know is on the http://www.rimfireaccuracy.com/ website.

Calfee indorsed, as good or better than a Turbo.

I have been in contact with the maker, have an exporter sorted. It will still be a test case as they will be the first ones in Australia but I will only be doing this once be it 2 or 5 actions. Price will be US$1100 for the action then the export and postage costs on top.

Not certain yet, I will not make any money thats for certain, at a guess
$1100US action
$100 - $200US export cost, less the more actions that come in.
Australian Dealer paperwork and transfer costs + postage to your dealer after it clears my dealer $100

Not much change out of $1400 at a guess.

Is it worth it, I am upgrading my Hall, thats what I think, and I was 4th in the World postal title out of 200 shooters from around the world with it.

Not certain but that price most likly does not include a trigger. My Hall was a bit less and the Dollar was only 60c.
I must stress its only a estimate, and only a offer for those really keen to build a top class RF BR gun.
Repeater? I can ask, I know they do a sporter, but it is not part of the first major production run.
What are you planning SSAA 7lb 12 gun, or a flash 17M2.

Interesting, very tempting. Do you reckon it'd be possible to retrofit my FWB for this action?

Congrats on making the USA team, will be a fun trip I think.

FWB
No, I don't think so.
The stock would require major work to open up the inletting Width and length, This action has 3 bedding screws not 2, trigger and bolt handels could be in different spots etc etc.
The barrel tennon is a different thread dia and TPI (threads per inch).

You would be better off starting from scratch like me. Buy some bits when we are in the USA and bring them home, get a new stock (I fit Bigstick stocks) which would be a small upgrade from your procal.
When its all up and running sell the FWB (in my case the Hall) to pay off the loan.

On onther point you interested in some Lapua X-act testing. I have all the lot numbers and amount available info for X-act ammo. Plan to order 100 rounds of each lot and test in the tunnel at Cecil park to find a good lot to take to the USA and buy in bulk. Havent got prices yet but they will not sponser me so not cheep.

Hey, are ya gonna make up a couple of Team Wilson tshirts for us to wear over there? I reckon it'd be a good idea.

Agreed. I'll talk to you offline about this.

Yeah, absolutely. I have two batch numbers that I know work, and one that doesn't. Would be good to see if there are any others. When are you planning to do it?

Bec, If you want PM me the lot numbers you like and I will check the list I have.

My plan is to buy some of each lot, hopefully before the Friday 4th Feb, and test at Cecil park in the tunnel on the 4th before the Wooll. shoot on the 5th.

If you want when I place my order I can get you some test lots as well and get it too you on the 5th or we can test together on the 4th.
Its all just in the planning stage but that is what I hope to do.

The lot number that works for me is #173 43 5 567 2, and #173 43 5 577 5

The other lot # I've tried and discounted starts with #157 44 5 ......

If you can find a place that sells at least two bricks of 173 43 5 567 2, I'll buy them. If not, pick a couple of other lots around the 173's and I'll try them.

Hi Bec
The new lot numbers I have look nothing like yours, I understand this is a new shipment and it would seem they do not have any old stock left.
Its interesting lot 567 2 did not work that great for me.

32545 5******/** (2 different lots like this)
29545 5*****/** (1 lot like this)
15744 5 *** */** (4 different lots like this)

I have just relised the bottom lot number is like the lot number you did not like, just written in a different format.
Where the lots you liked the old Black plastic holder or the new Blue plastic holder.

All my good ammo was 173 43 5 .... as well (black holder).

Well I have 2 packets of each of the 7 lots on order will soon find out what works if the wind would ever let up.

Have you been reading the dramas with Olimp-R?
