cat c safe requirements

Post by alex1 »

hi guys,

just a quick question about safes. For a cat c license holder can you use a small 7 gun safe under 150kg and bolt to the floor and wall and be legal or does it have to be strictly over 150kg and cat c approved?

Alex1.

Cat C's have to be made of 6mm plate unlike most A & B's...most of the Cat C's we sell at our LGS are under 150kgs.

i have heard that the safe requirements for Vic are to change this year. something along the lines of must be a safe specifically made for firearms kind of thing, no more fridge with lock/reinforced change room lockers etc etc.

anyone else heard this or is it a load of s%$t?
