G"day All
Chris-John Cook fitted the barrel and custom tuner for me.
I shot it tonight and it definitely shows promise but needs some tuner work.
I feel it will need a brick or two to settle and tweek but im workin on it.
Its a 1 inch cylinder tube 25 inches long.
Threaded tuner is one of cookies home mades with the grub screw weights.
I thought I might run a brick of SK thru it just to get some trigger time and settle the barrel.
I have an assortment of eley match bricks to try also.

You need to try a lot of different ammo and batches, NH. I wouldn't think that the barrel would "settle" after a brick or two, unless you wanna put 1000 rounds down without cleaning. What your previous barrel liked, this one might not.

Is it your first time with a tuner?

Hey Ron I have no idea of the serial number, think it originaly came from a deceased estate up Coffs Harbour way, passed through a couple of hands and if it's the same rifle Steve ended up with it.

G"day All
I got to the range early today and ran 300 shots thru and cleaned a few times and played with tuner weights and Im happy I have it close, vertical is all but eliminated, quite windy here today and I put out four flags.
I shoot tonight so that will give me a better idea if the weather is kind.
Bec- I have played with tuners before.!!
I tried Eley match off machines 3,5,6 in different speeds and the machine 5 seemed to be best.
I suspect it will only get better.

I have noticed at the last couple of comps I have been to that the RWS R50 and Eley EPS match would account for over 3/4 of the ammo used.Been some good stuff said about the new RWS (shiney gold box),my new light gun appears to like the faster stuff and the heavy gun likes slower ammo...................................................Rinso may very well have the right idea about these pea rifles.

Agreed with the shiney gold box R50.

I've been shooting my Sako Finnfire Range off the bipod and shoulder, and scoring some impressive 13mm 10-shot groups with the shiney R50. It's a tight fit in the chamber though...

Damien you are correct...............................brick and all  ,I had 15 rounds of the new R50 given to me to try and dot after dot.
..........................yep I had to look twice just to be sure,I have had similar things happen in the past....try some ammo, shoots absolute dots and go to a comp when it all matters and ................................................................shoot like a goober!!!!!thats me :D .
Damien it appears that you know what your doing and I have no doubt that you will get the full potential from your rifle you/me and most everyone else just need practice.....................................and meaningfull practice IE shooting over flags and not just when its calm but when its blowing or in a switching breeze, some say that a good memory and experience is hard to beat and I agree.

Regards Chris.
