I guess you could always see how good their warranty is.Poohbah wrote:Well, I did hear that they were as good as a Leupold VX111 that's why I bought one. But mine is more on a par with a Nikko Sterling rather than a Leupold VX111.
The clarity just is not there, at shorter ranges the parallax is really bad.
I do own a Leupold VX111 8.5-25 , Nikko 6.5-26 and a Vortex 6.5 -20 so I can tell first hand how they compare.
If I had my time over the Vortex is the only scope that I wouldn't buy again, The whole purchase has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Not had my Viper for very long bit I would put it near my Leupolds ( VX111 and a fixed 10 1979 vintage )

Viper 6.5-20 x 44 $339
Loopy VX3 6.5-20x42 $1100
Economics 101 tells me the loopy is not worth nearly $800 more.

Re: CQ Scopes ( Dawson River )
I am about to refund nearly (but out of principle not quite) all for a Viper 6.5-20x44 that was faulty. Vortex's australian agent is posting the brand new (no questions asked) replacement to me. If I had coin I would keep it as bloody Missed and Adamjp have sent me off on another quest.........(this one is a looong slow journey)
But since I havent got any coin its $300 to anyone that wants it
