I see they are a wire recticle. Thought that went out years ago.
Re: CQ Scopes ( Dawson River )
You defiantly don't get what you pay for with these, they are made in china had a 8-32 come on a second hand rifle i purchased, Glass was clear enough during the day didn't try it at night but they look and feel very cheap don't know how long it would last on a kicker. They look like a cheap generic scope with a crappy little p&d badge glued on the side and your normal made in china sticker underneath.
you would be better off with a nikko sterling, cheap tasco or no name eBay special and save alot of coin left.
Doubt they would sell many at those prices I got $120 for mine on eBay which is twice as much as what I was expecting.

Thanks for the insight Danny.
I advised my mate he would be much better off looking at a Bushnell 4200, at a minimium in quality to fit on his 225 Win as he is a bit tight on $$ at the moment.

If he is on a budget, have a look at the bushell 3200,nikon buckmaster or redfield revelution range very good scopes for their price brackets and not junk. Buying from the USA will save some extra coin.

Re: CQ Scopes ( Dawson River )
Vortex are good scopes Poohbah. In my opinion they are on par with the Leupold VX-III as far as light transmission and clarity. While not as good as a $2000+ NF or S&B a vortex would be my first pick for anyone looking for a >$1000 scope.Poohbah wrote:Two more words

As far as reliability I have had mine since 2007 and it lives on my camel/donkey gun. It gets bounced around behind the seat or on the rack for weeks at a time and has had a couple of thousand 30-06 fired under it. In all this time i have only resighted for different loads and once after the mounts came loose. I have run POI shift tests and an around the box test and it performed as well as my Nightforce.
They have a lifetime warranty and Vortex's commitment to this is well documented elsewhere.
If you are on a budget they are certainly worth a look.

Re: CQ Scopes ( Dawson River )
Well, I did hear that they were as good as a Leupold VX111 that's why I bought one. But mine is more on a par with a Nikko Sterling rather than a Leupold VX111.
The clarity just is not there, at shorter ranges the parallax is really bad.
I do own a Leupold VX111 8.5-25 , Nikko 6.5-26 and a Vortex 6.5 -20 so I can tell first hand how they compare.
If I had my time over the Vortex is the only scope that I wouldn't buy again, The whole purchase has left a bad taste in my mouth.
Caveat Emptor , "Let the buyer beware".
Regards Poohbah

Fair enough Poohbah. Bugger that you had a bad experience. Out of interest was the Vortex you had the Viper or one of the other models?
