ACT Smallbore State Championships

Post by SnipeWench »

I'm currently competing in the ACT Smallbore State Championships, being held at the Majura range.

All I can say is that it has been an absolutely surreal experience shooting through the snow! Didn't need any flags, as the snow flakes falling showed the wind - very visual experience! Quite pretty too, though cold *shiver*

Doing quite well so far - 1st in 20m benchrest, 1st in 20m prone, currently sitting in 1st place in 50m benchrest, 3 shots clear of the field. Dropped 4 shots for a 596 - very tough conditions today, so we all suffered.

*shivers* Gah it's cold down here!!

Yes Canberra can turn on some lovely weather while your shooting.
Shooting during snow is a different experience.Cool (excuse the pun) isn't it. 8)
Congrats on the results so far. :D

If you had the wind we have had up here it would have been very challenging!

Top effort

I was on such a high on the way home, with three gold and a silver medal in the shooting box. I won the silver medal today in 50m prone, with a 584 score, with a 199 on my last card.

I walk in the front door, mum tells me to jump into bed with her and give her a cuddle, and she then proceeded to tell me that they had to put down our Siberian Husky, Diesel, today, due to the arthritis in her legs.

I can't describe how I feel right now - weird, sad, upset, and think about the fact she woke up this morning to sunshine and no wind, and now she's buried 6 feet under and we'll never see her again... Hmm...

Well done Bec. We expect to see you in the Olympic shooting team & with your skill you will no doubt get there. Well done.

Sorry to hear about the Dog, I know how you would feel (I had to have my 3 year old filly put down, apart from having hand reared her and being able to lead her to water and make her drink, I was also able to swim her in Botany Bay). She was exceptionally smart.

Pets make wonderful companions-especially when you have bonded with them.

Regards

Sean
