My gunsmith almost has my Martini 218 B completed so I'm interested to know what loads others use in this cartridge
It will mainly be used for "Beginer benchrest" shooting at the range and the occasional spotlighting session
It has a truck axle TES barrel 1:14 twist (I think?), straight profile 1.25" in diameter..20" long
Suitable powers I have on hand are 2205, 2207 and Reloader 7
What target / benchrest projectiles in the 40 to 50 gr range are available? I have a packet of Nosler 40 gr with orange tip to start with...but keen to try any others eg; Bergers or whatever yous recomend...
cheers
spinna.

The Nosler 40gr BT's are a top projectile.

W-W680 was THE powder for the .218Bee. I have found 12.5 of W-W296 under the W-W 46HP bulk projectile a good load.
2207 is too bulky. 2205 is too 'fussy' and I have had nil success with it finding an accurate load. I use Rem 7 1/2 primers.

Hey mate, I have a 218 Bee improved and I'm using 13.5grs 2205 with a 40gr Vmax.
