Ploughboy I have a Vortex Viper 4.5-10x50 and think it is quiet good. I compare it favourably to a Bushnell Elite 4200 in 3-9x40 and a Sightron S11 Bigsky in 3-12x42.I had a VX111 4.5-14x40 that I would not rate in the same class as a spotlighting scope.
I have the 30mm rings ready to go but no rifle yet so for me the test is a few weeks off.

Their site was a bit contradictory. They will ship to Australia - MISSED and scopes cleared customs on Friday.

Now that I have looked though, I can't find the bit on their site where it used to say "Scopes can only be shipped to Australia and New Zealand". I hope they haven't changed their policy - they have great deals!

I shot off an email to Doug at Cameraland. Apparently they had received complaints from suppliers about marketing to Australia (sound familiar?). The door is closed but it isn't locked - give Doug an email on GR8FULDOUG@aol.com and ask him about the particular scope you are interested in.

Cheers, Jason.

Well I thought you could not view pages unless you are a member so the complaints have came from a member. Thing is that how much are the retailers in Australia getting them for? I would have thought slightly cheaper than these so this raises the question of how much retailers here think is a reasonable amount of money to make on a scope.

plowboy I don`t think it is so much a retailers profit gouging that is the issue.A lot of shops run on 15% or even less on some articles and quiet possibly importers are even less .My bitch is the restriction of free trade if I choose to buy locally or OS that is my choice and I should have the right to take the risk of warranty issues lost shipments or misrepresented goods.
