left hand bat action

Post by Jack H »

Hi Guys.

l have come across a left hand bat action with a 338 lapua mag bolt. l have sort of gathered they are not a bad action. lt is 1.5 inches in diameter and is 8.5 inches long. l'm not into target shooting, so what else would this action be good for, l was thinking a nice long range hunter, and what cal would you turn it into??
Just wondering if it may be worth persueing or not :?

How does the 300yogi compare to ones like the 300wby??

Are the bat actions common in left handers. What are they normally worth?? l know my l/h hunting rifles are always dearer than r/handers.

I wouldnt be worried about it being a single shot target action .....if you hit anything with a .338lap its not going to need another follow up shot.
my Bat action cost me about $2300.

Dave Tooley is probably your best bet. I went searching the internet and couldnt find anything useful (in fairness i didnt try very hard). I was looking for a case diagram or some such but had no luck in that respect.

If it has a 338 Lap boltface you should look into the 338 and 300 Norma Magnum cases.

Not to be confused with the 50yo 308 and 358 Norma Magnums.
