600yd Tune Up

Post by singleshot »

Have put 2 new rifles together in the last 6 weeks or so.
6x47L and another 284w
Had got to the stage where accuracy was what I was looking for. Weather during a few weekends of testing had been very ordinary.

Today wife and I arrived at range, helped setup for 600yd F Open shoot. Flags put up and dead calm, very unusual for our range. I like to shoot when the conditions are shit, as it is the only way to learn the art of condition reading. But today was the perfect time to test these rifles with zero to the very occasional 1/2 minute wind change.

First range with 284w, ten shots in 1.9". Good wife shot 6x47 and ten shots in 2.5" (1 out in the wind)
Second range with 284w, ten shots in 2.2". Good wife lifted her game and managed 1.9" with the 6x47.
Vertical with the 40 shots was around 1.7". :D
All measurements with 6" steel rule :)

Don't ask for pics as I did not take any, no camera.

Like I said, conditions were near perfect. When this happens you just have to take full advantage.

I wonder what next week will bring?

I'd hazard a guess and say you'd be please with that. 8)
Gotta love the 284's.
Looking forward to seeing your results in the Queens, best of luck.

Real happy with 284. Just hope I can keep finding good batches of projectiles....175g SMK. Anyone out there wanting to off load any?

Looking forward to the Queens, but anything can happen at these shoots...one shot at a time.

No, not those Tony. Shot some of yours in my other gun and they go where they should. Will keep yours for comp shoots.
The ones I shot yesterday were from a dealer in Brisbane. They measured really well. Pity I only have one box of those left.
I used 103g Copperheads in the 6mm.
