Daystate

Post by Ackley Improved »

Anyone had anything to do with these? In particular the Airwolf? I'm thinking $$$, but after reading a few things on them sound very impressive.

Cheers

I've played with the AirWolf, but the Ranger and AirWolf are basically the same gun externally as you probably know. Just the Wolf has the fancy electronics and would be even more expensive than the Ranger at VicArms ($$ ).

I never liked the idea of the bottle guns before I handled a Wolf, I was amazed at how light and balanced it was and the bottle is huge. I thought they would be very nose heavy and clunky but they are a beautifully designed and made product and I was honestly taken back by how light the whole package was. I fell in love with it. The US ones are shrouded too so not only do they hit hard they were quiet as well, pity we can't share the same sensibilities as NZ, UK and US.

The guy that had one at the range had a range finder as well and was ranging on targets out to 100m with it and hitting them all the time, I was impressed. The Ranger at Vic Arms has some beautiful timber if the one in the photo is available. I can't imagine they would be selling too many $3k air rifles here in Oz but I may be wrong. They are a nice full size rifle, with great wood and checkering and a nice stock shape and feel.

The .25 cal Ranger would be a sledgehammer I'd imagine at 80fpe. Good luck with your decision.

I asked Xtek about the Air Arm's, flicking through a old issue of SS and i read the XTRA FAC S410.
I thought they were alot more expensive than what they stated in the magazine.

Pretty good value i reckon, since FX has the same prices and they seem to have leaking problems.
