Going to take the road to reloading my own ammo. Not being in the know, I was hoping for any advice on which press would be better RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme Master Kit or Hornady Lock n Load Classic Kit.
I hunt ferals with .270WSM & .308W and enjoy rabbit varminting with my .223R (40gn Nosler BT). Its just I not too sure if Hornadys small electronic scale is the go, compare to RCBS' beam scale.
Would appreciate any advice.

My opinion would be to go for the RCBS gear, I am sure plenty of people have had a good run from the hornady stuff too but I am more familiar with the RCBS line and it is good gear.

G'day Patroldog, I use a Hornady lock n load, had no drama's with it. I like the L n L feature, its quick to set up and mine came with balance beam scale at the time and I find it perfect for what I do.

I just ordered a rock chucker supreme kit ... still waiting for it to arrive I'm sure both are quality gear. I think the general consensus from people in the know is buy once cry once!

Green is good. When i wanted to upgrade from cheap crap research on a few forums sent me to a Rockchucker but Hornady have a good rep and you wont have problems if you go that way.
Use the beam scale in the kit and save your pennies till you can afford a chargemaster combo, or if you can afford one now just go do it!!!

i use a RCBS rockchucker with the hornady LnL conversion kit.......best of both worlds
Re: Any advice - RCBS or Hornady Press
Well ... I sold my RCBS presses and moved to a Lee Classic Cast. Made money on the sale too. I dont buy into 'big names' and 'big advertising budgets'.
For the cartridges your looking at loading a RockChucker is pure overkill, as would be the Lee Classic Cast. A small press like a Partner press would be fine, in fact any small O frame would be fine.
Cheers...
