Rimfire News

Post by Brett33 »

The NSW SARAI Enduro was held on Sunday just passed and I looked up the results during my lunch break.

Our Own Snipewench (AKA Bec) won it.
Comp is 3 x 60 shot matches, 1 after the other, possible 600 60x per match for 1800 180x total possible(1800.180).
1st Bec: 599.54, 599.49 598.53 for 1796.156
2nd John Howard (of small bore fame not PM) 1785.114 and last years winner.
3rd Joy Kidd 1774.108

Clear 11 point winner with a very high X count need to check the record books.

Well done Bec.

Yes I am, Will be traveling up arrive in time for a bit of practice on the Friday, compete Sat and Sun, travel home on the Monday. This is final selection for a trip to the USA and play with the big boys, so I plan on shooting well to make the team. I have the gear to compete over there now heavy gun, check. 10.5lb gun, check (sharing with others), 8.5lb sporter, will be borrowing the Calfee Croc sporter I put together, check. Just need to make the team and have the funds.

So if I take my FWB up to Brisbane, I'd only be shooting LG, correct?

Nope, RBA only has one class at the moment and is considered a heavy class and your FWB was built for RBA heavy class. I never put it on the scales to see if it made 14lb (heavy class) in IRB.
I may have confused the situation with mention of the 3 classes of competition in the USA. Australia RBA is the selection method for the USA team but the comp is run by WARBF.
Class 1: Light gun will be 8lb something (in Australia we use 7 3/4lb) with fixed 6 power scope and narrow stock.
Class 2: 10.5, A USA class with 3" stock any scope power, but staying under 10.5lb with a tunner is tough.
Class 3: Heavy gun, from memory 15lb, this is what most Aussie shooters will be competing in as our rifles fit the class.

Rules may change next year with RBA going to a new Home
