Hi All
Today saw Townsville run their May 1000yd shoot which was part of the postal with Virginia. A great day was had by all with some relatively nice conditions to shoot in for a long change. These conditions saw some great shooting for the day with a special note to recognise the day aggregate that Tony Z shot in LG which was 3.690" and I believe a new Australian record for a day aggregate. Is anyone able to confirm?
All the results are up in the results pages but a quick overview:
- HG score agg went to Jeff H on 175.1
- HG group agg went to JR with 8.577"
- Small Group HG went to JR with 8.223"
- LG score agg went to myself on 94
- LG group agg went Tony Z with 3.690"
- Small Group LG was Tony Z with 3.588"

Thanks Dave. The day agg should read 3.690" as the second group was 3.791" with the first at 3.588".
As Al said the conditions were good with light winds and zero mirage all afternoon, something of a rarity in this part of the world. Even though there were light winds, there were way more DNFs than what i would have expected. One of them being my old HG that lost its entire group to the left when the wind slowly went green after being red for the best part of the day.

Thankyou to albow and his assistants for the provision of the photos of all targets.
hopefully the virginia 1000yd BR club will be able to run their scheduled 1000yd events without problems for the remainder of the year.
