SSAA rimfire nationals are on starting Friday week, who from this site should I look out for.
I will be easy to find, In the IRB I will be using a Pink stocked Hall, also using the Hall for heavy group and sharing the "Croc" Calfee sporter in the light class.

Yeah. I will be there.
Have shot very little IRB, but willing to have a go.

Hi Brendan
I have never shot a IRB card, but I shoot RBA and the two cards are nearly the same, just different locations for sighters.
I have never even seen a Group target (outside pictures) or shot a group match, so its going to be a big leaning curve.
Can I ask about youe rifle? What are you using?

Hall action and rings, Jewell trigger, Kelbly SPG stock, Lilja 3 groove, March scope, Van Ahrens tuner, built by Cooky.
Just a knock-about outfit.
Just a knock-about outfit.
Re: SSAA Rimfire Nationals
That should just about do the job! Using lapua, Eley, or RWS. I think I heard you were using X-act.
Is the Lilja a tight bore or standard? And what Dia is it? Cooky is not known for useing tuners so you must have told him what Dia to use for the barrel.
Looks like at least 3 Halls on the line, maybe a fourth as well.
Good luck with it and we will have to compare notes while we are there.

Hopefully will catch up with Brendon maybe some other sfrom the site.
Goal No.1 at least top 10 in IRB for me to stay in the running for world titles 2012.
Goal No.2 Have all the rifles I have had a hand in building do well for their owners / users.

What a tough week
What a tough week, Left work after a full day last Wednesday and drove till I got tired (slept in the car), finished the remainder of the 12 hour drive to Brisbane Thursday. I arrived in time for a couple hours practive as I had never shot the IRB or Group targets before, and I had never seen the range before. After 2 solid hours of practice, I had no idea what I was doing, I could not read the wind or work out what was going on.
Started IRB nationals Friday (3 cards), and struggled all day to finish just outside the top 10.
Continued on Saturday with IRB and started to get the hang of the wind, last card was a 247 to finish in the top 10.
Over the 6 IRB cards, 2 days of shooting I finished in the top 10 for 50+ shooters and have 2 top ten patches.
Sunday was the start of group shooting, 50m heavy. I started strong, had 1 bad target in the middle, finished well for 3rd. I also got my first 2 ever screemer patches (only 11 were awarded for the weekend)
In the afternoon was 50m light groups, loaning a rifle I had fired less then 50 rounds though and hardly ever using a 6X scope I again made top ten.
Sunday morning was 90m heavy groups and I got smashed by the wind.
Sunday was 90m light and I got another top 10 and just held onto top 10 for the 2 yardage in light.
All up I was happy with how I shot but will stick to score shooting in the future.
Better still rifles I gunsmithed had good results over the weekend (not including my own results).
1st 50m Light (group)
1st 90m Heavy (group)
Top 10 90m light (group)
Top 10 light 2 yardage
2 x Top 10 2 gun
12 hour drive home yesterday and back at work today (no more 4 day nationals for me)
Thanks Chris for keeping people informed.
