since bushnell won't reply to my e-mail, I have a question for the experts. I have a bushnell elite 5-15-50 and absolutely love it. the only thing is that on the elavation adjustment and windage there are no numbers, just pin dots. So it is very easy to get lost in the wheel if you wanted to click it up for longer shots while spotlighting.
so my question is if it is possible to by an addon exchagable tactical turret that you can screw on?This would be bloody handy when your spotlighting and you saw a fox out of your usual shooting or zero range and then just click her up and
Be bloody good on the hip pocket aswell whithout buying another scope.
Why not just learn your rifles trajectory and employ the age old technique of holdover? Personally, I wouldn't be too keen on stuffing around with turrets in the dark whilst spotlighting. By the time you range it and adjust your scope chances are the target will be long gone.

If you use a laser rangefinder you will find that even the best Lightforce/Powerbeam will only light up a fox body for the naked eye out to less than 150m (in normal farming country).
You get eyes out to 300m, sometimes.
Rifle zero @ 100m.
My simple rules of thumb:
if you can see the body without the scope - hold dead on
if you can see the body through the scope - hold just above the eyes
if all you can see are eyes through the scope - get closer! Your shot is not safe 'cause you have NFI whats behind the fox.
If you can post a photograph of the turret without the knobby bit I can tell you if it looks like the same thing on the 3200series 10x40 scope.
And my spotlight is a Lightforce 240 with a HID bulb. Trust me, it does not get much more powerful. I surprised myself when I took the laser out, I was consistently over estimating the range under the light.
Must be something in the air where you shoot Adam but I have successfully taken shots on foxes out to 320m and seen MISSED take one at over 400m, measured with either GPS or rangefinder, using a 9" Powabeam. So, in my experience it can and has been done on more than one occasion.

Not saying it can't be done, or that you cannot see the foxes eyes at that distance. Just saying you cannot see with any clarity as there is just not enough light for fur picture at 300m through a scope - you cannot see where the body of the fox is, making a body shot guess work.
Last time I was at Rugby we spotted a dumb young fox on the top of a hill from at least 500m out. Dopey little bugger let us close the range to 150m where he wore a Amax in the head. Still couldn't see him at that range with our eyes only, took 4 minutes to find him in the grass.
Like I said, when I took the laser rangefinder out I was surprised at how short the ranges were when compared to my eyeball estimate. Try it sometime.

I have done it numerous times and I guess this is one occassion where we will have to agree to disagree. But, in saying that, if that Kahles scope of yours cant pick up a foxes body under the light at 300m I would be sending the bloody thing back
They make custom turrets for bushnell too, they seem more specificly made for the cartridge as well but sure you could get something more plain if needed.
THere are others made by stoney point but they look a little dodgey!.
The other one is get a couple colors of fluro perm pen and mark your zero and mark any other ranges in diff colors.

Believe it or not I've not used the Kahles under a light yet. Works nice at dusk though.
I'm looking for an 8x56 Kahles for the 22-250. Lets just say I've become a bit of a scope snob since buying that Kahles. Now all I need is the $$ to make it happen.
