Well the Triton has finally scrubbed out the POS factory tyres.
What are the goto tyres these days for mixed use (mostly on road so noise is a factor)?
BFG A/T's and Cooper A/T used to be the kings but that was a long time ago, any suggestions?

I’m getting good milage out of my current Falken Wildpeak ATW3’s.
Up to 83k and will probably get beyond 90k if I let them.
MISSED also has them on his bus.

A few suggest Maxxis but I’ve no experience with them.
I’d be interested to hear what you select as I’ll be looking for a set (with similar requirements) to put on my Pajero Sport.

1 Really low road noise
2 Wet road performance
3 Good grip on Dirt/Gravel roads
4 Wear
5 Price

I was real pleased with the Michelins I had on my Rodeo. Around 90,000 with rotating 5 wheels. Had no problems with noise or grip wet or dry.
Cheers,
Trevor.

I'm on my 3rd set of BF Goodrich AT's!
I get 70+K out of them.
They work very for what I do.

Stay away from toyo at’s. I won’t drive in the wet with them on.

Having a good run out of my Falken Wildpeak AT3's also. Had a couple of years i guess.
Mine are 265/60 18's.
Quiet on road.
Good wet bitumen grip.
Good in the bush in all dry terrains including sand, not great in mud but they aren't a muddy. Good high speed dirt dirt road grip.
I've had two punctures - one from a metal screw which I plugged and one from a hole saw arbor left on the road that wrecked a sidewall.

The pending costs of picking up and moving interstate have put that expense on hold for a while...

I know it's been a while but I finally had the (financial) chance to get the tyres done.
Based on the recommendations here I went with the Falken Wildpeak AT3.
$225fitted (x5).
I have done a couple of hundred k's on them now - a mix of highway, road and dirt and I am, so far, quite happy with them. There is a bit more road shock through the steering wheel than before, especially at highway speeds but nothing to really worry about.
On the freeway/highway very little to no tyre noise, so that's good.
They feel quite sure footed both on the road and on the dirt.

That’s great to hear as my Pajero Sport will need new tyres sooner rather than later. So I will take at look at yours. Most of my driving is 99% road with the odd week away camping etc.
Tyres are showing wear and one has an annoying slow leak.
May wait until after my next (if ever) trip from VIC to QLD.

Finally got the Falken Wildpeaks. So far I’m impressed with them. Two whole trips on the road around town.
Cost has gone up significantly post Covid but thems the brakes.
