Our daughter has had one of her best friends staying with us this week, as her teacher single mum was away on a school camp. Mum arrived this afternoon to pick up her daughter and had this bucket of basil for us:
Did a quick whip around the garden and sent them off with a few things in return:

Re: Anyone else got a veggie garden going?
We're winding down our patches as we are getting sorted to move.
The 5x2.5m enclosed raised bed has been very productive over the years.
In other parts I have managed to get gluts of chillies and herbs like weeds.
I also get about one pineapple a year from amongst my 8 or 10 plants.
It's tipping down ATM but I'll get some pictures when I can.

Looks good Keith. What varieties of tomatoes do you have in? We have my favourite Tigerella, with some Mortgage Lifters, some Black Russians, some Italian style toms, and some unknown seedlings from dad.

Got a lot of toms in this year, we have Pineapple, yellow pear, red grape, sugar lump, San Marzano, Cherry and one other. Our season here is late as we can’t plant until November.Branxhunter wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 6:07 pmLooks good Keith. What varieties of tomatoes do you have in? Yeah I seen that on A Current Affair the other night!
Its certainly a pretty colour!
My father in-law worked for the water board down here and said that's what happens when councils look after the water, they have have no knowledge or expertise of how to treat water!
He also said there is now way in this day in age anyone should have water like that!
An Ultra Filtration is an industry standard, its not that hard to fix it!

And here I was for all these years thinking it was your lack of coffee making skills that made the coffee there taste crap.

Re: Anyone else got a veggie garden going?
One tomato so far this year, bloody labrador keeps helping herself. Destroyed a chili plant the other day jumping to reach the higher tomatoes. Looking yesterday there should be 3 or 4 ripe enough to pick this afternoon if she hasnt got them already.
