The little quail farm is going well, got 35 eggs in the incubator and today made the first lot of pickled eggs
Forty eggs
Boiling
Peeled and in vinegar and sugar solution
Fiddly little buggers to peel, but worth the effort and time

Bugger all really, they don't need much height as they don't fly, so something around 400 - 450 mm high would do, four birds, one cock bird and three hens, about 1/2 sqm is plenty. You could keep them in a good sized cocky cage if you wanted to, if you already have an aviary, just chuck them in the bottom with a small hutch for them to shelter in and they will clean up any spilled seed. I feed mine chicken crumble and give them a small amount of ground up shell gritt once a week.
Google raising quail on u tube, there are a lot of set ups there, though I think some of them are too cramped for the amount of birds they have in them.

Well, nice surprise this morning, hatching has started, nine out, three got under the tray and drowned themselves in the water reservoir, six healthy little fluff balls
By my figuring they are a day or two early, but Iām not complaining
