Any opinions on who to get to make a knife that you would use but treasure?

Depends what kind of knife you're after, IMHO, as most makers have preferred styles and their own specialty.....I have knives by Will Morrison and Kevin Slattery, and like them both for different reasons.

Tyler's knives do look good from the pictures I have seen of them and by all reports very good knives. Kev Slattery's knives are nice too, as are a lot of other makers.
I have 3 custom knives, one by Wally Bidgood, one by John Foxwell and one from unknown maker that I picked up at a gunshow a long time ago. Funnily enough the one I picked up from the gunshow has become my favourite.
IMO it comes down to a personal choice, if you like the look and feel of a knife, the steel they are using, the blade style and balance from a maker, and the price is right for you then that's the one to go with.
Probably doesn't help you much though.
