Re: I couldn't help myself and got the Stihl MS311
Just read this.
Nice saw Keith. Those noses can be tight first off .
But I really don't miss getting firewood. I started on the axe at ten. More jams then splits. At thirteen I was promoted to a McCullough chainsaw. For 39 years I split firewood and this morning as I have done for the past seven years I pressed a button and the gas kicked in. Bloody fantastic.
No it's not as nice as a big wood heater but the time and cost saving just makes me smile. I am getting old and lazy. Chop on gentlemen, chop on.
Cheers

Bit of an upgrade from the 024 mate!
A longer bar and a ripping chain and you'd be ready to mill timber to build your own stocks mate!

For the first time ever I was cutting faster than Mitch could split. The deer afterwards was a bonus tho.

No mate. Run it dry. The fat lubricates it. Only had oil in it for the initial start up at the dealers. 30 years on and never missed a beat or beast.daisy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 11, 2017 4:25 pmUmmm bar oilmacca wrote: ↑Fri Aug 11, 2017 3:47 pmHalf and quarter my cattle carcasses with a sthil 08s .
