Some pic's from fishing the Lightning, a lower level forest stream.
Caught about 15 small rainbows and 4 or 5 slightly larger browns. Kept two browns for a feed . This area was burnt in the 2003 fires and the undergrowth is now too thick. It needs another controlled burn to reduce the fuel for another wildfire. It does however provide ideal conditions for Sambar. I put one up that was bedded in some tree ferns. That big ginger arse bouncing through the bush is still a buzz. It ran out about 50m and barked twice before bolting for good. I don't know if it was a stag on hind- must get back up there with gun and dog
