Blade Fuses

Post by The Raven »

I'm not sure if someone here put me onto this but....

Jaycar sell blade fuses in circuit breaker form. Auto and manual reset versions in both normal and mini sizes.

About $6 each and about twice as tall as a normal blade fuse but very handy if you don't usually carry spares.

Yep, seen those.

They have a 100Amp rating before they pop. Saw it on Mythbusters. At least they are reusable.

Just wrap alfoil around the old round fuses when they blow, garanteed never to blow again.  I have seen thick fence wire used in place of car fuses, also 2.5mm tie wire used in the old ceramic house fuses. Some people just look for dumb ways to fix things

We used to see bolts used, we referred to them as the 5000A fuse.
