Re: Hiking boots
I still have those boots you gave me two daisy picking's ago. Haven't had the need to use them yet so I'm happy to return them if you want.

Re: Hiking boots
I've been using Ariat ATS Boots (Model 10004820) for some time.
Comfy, hard wearing, waterproof, cow shit proof, horse shit proof.
I walk 10 to 12 Km's on hard surfaces each day in them and they suit me.

Re: Hiking boots
Hey Rabbitz,
They looks pretty sweet. When you say hard surfaces are you meaning concrete floors or outdoors hard ?
Would you say they'd be fair to good or better for the terrains like out at Yass ?

Re: Hiking boots
Both.
I walk on concrete and steel most days, but quite often wear them in the yards and field. Never had a problem with them. A lot of cockies swear by them.
Even climbed a volcano in them - I've had a couple of pairs.

Re: Hiking boots
TBH I tried them on when I bought them so didn't remember the size.
Just now I've had a look they Are US 8EE, UK 7W, Eur 41W.
My normal boot size varies between 7 to 8 so it seems like normal sizing.

They seem to be quite reasonable in their pricing.

Re: Hiking boots
9" Original SWAT boots, 12th November 2015.
March 19 2017
The only real wear of any note is the heel lining is wearing through. They don't rub (I wear Explorer socks) and still wear fine.
The soles, March 26 2018.
I have put some km's on these hunting foxes at night and also a few daytime hunts. I'd average 10-12km a hunt once or sometimes twice a week. Feet feel fresh the next day.
Mixture of granite rock, all sorts of grass and grass seeds. Sometimes got wet through from creeks. They are not waterproof.
Apart from the lining at the heel there is not one thread out of place on these and the sole has plenty of wear left.
All I did was put some gel insoles in them when I got them as they fitted a tad large. I'm a US 9 and these were more like a 9 1/2. Gel sole adds to comfort anyway and I prefer to wear thick socks.
I'm no lightweight either - 98kg in me jocks.
I got these off ebay from this crowd. Sizes available vary.

Re: Hiking boots
Fenring, cheers for the pics, info and link, will look at a set of them next week, will still be geting a set of the others as soon as they're in stock. I can do an honest comparisons between them at a later date down the track
