You don't NEED another gun either

I don't worry about lowering tyre pressure offroad either. Also only have about 32psi for general driving, much smoother ride around our local roads and pump them up if a big load on.
Have an older ARB compressor. Not used much but works when I need it.

If it involves boys toys need is irrelevant.
Which to get back on topic you don't need a compressor but you should have one. Didn't someone try using one for skinning, another reason.
How about : Inflating air mattresses, inflatable toys/footballs, blowing dust off scopes/actions, pushbike tyres. Lots of uses.

as for pressures your standard hilux size 4x4s run 32psi unless have large tool boxes or weight then go up to 38 /40 larger cruiser size 4x4s run 36 to 40 psi but if loaded anywhere from 45/50 psi even around farm tracks unless alot of sand - mud then maybe drop down to about 20 for lux size and 30 for cruiser size this is a ball park i use and set at work for the last 25yrs in the tyre game wheel aligment and balance will kill tyres quicker then pressures unless way down then you'll were the both shoulder off

Interesting, I thought the golden rule was same pressure all round. Are you using higher pressures for the coil front end, and lower pressures to soften the leaf spring rear?

Sidewall deflection on the front versus the rear is significantly different. Bullbar and winch etc load the front up giving uneven tyre wear across the face of the tyre at 32psi. Increased pressure to 40psi, swapped them r/h to l/h and they evened up nicely.

With ESC,TC,EBFD it's not so much pressures but rolling radius which screws with these systems. Having corner assist come on when it's not necessary is pretty unnerving but changing pressures fixes it.

Rear pressures were reduced to increase traction when travelling toolbox free, but with a half to full load on I put them up to 36-40.

Will be fitting a trutrack lsd to help with unloaded traction.

Like kickenback i prefer to set them by how they drive/feel and wear

On land rover defenders specification is front 28 psi rear 48psi- but landy's are weird. Even with skinny 7.50r16 tyre's the only time I've every had to air down is in the softest of sand.
