From memory it was minus a brake pad on one of the corners, the noise that we heard was probably the disc working its way out. Gnome will confirm though

Was fan belts needing a lil adjustment ! Has not done it since and yes there was a break pad fall out but that was almost 2 months later. Since then I have replaced all pads, has new front wheel bearings steering bearings and overhaul kit done on the Swivel & Hub (Cheers to Kickinback for his helpful PM's). Was astounded to see that the last "so called mechanic" that had actually replaced all said parts had actually cut the felts and seals to get them on/over the ball... Yes it was done by a "mechanic" as the service records state when it was done.. I have yet to drill & easy-out the broken stud on the passenger side steering linkage probably done by the mechanic!
I have also replaced the steering damper with a tough-dog Return-to-Center Steering damper. Next up on the to do list will be power steering box overhaul/seals kit & tie-rod ends and new rubber all round come middle of the year.

Oh and forgot to mention I replaced the CV joints as well
