A Few QLD Bass

Post by Buffy »

TYB and I recently went and spent some time with my old man and nephew chasing Aussie bass. All bass caught on surface offerings.

I'll let the pics tell the story.

Thanks Curan. Yeah, that flatty is a corker. My second biggest to date @ 96cm nose to tip. My biggest so far is 99cm caught at Hawks Nest on 4lb gear.

Nice work on the bass, NOTHING beats surface action fishing.
Bloody nice flattie too. my pb is around 75 from the kayak around coal point and it was freaking huge so I can't even begin to imagine the proportions of near 1m jobbies.

Nice going Buffy, that flatty is definitely a beauty. Never had the opportunity to go after Bass, but I did manage to hook a nice barra once when I was in Cairns in the early 80's, about the size of the second one you have there. I have a hard time measuring the fish I have caught over the years, usually whip the fillets off and then think, Wonder how big that one was. :homer:
