Good stuff Mark, great to see others getting in and having a go at making cutting gear. They should do the job ok mate.

Looks good, Mark.
I have been meaning to make a handle for a sgian-dubh. I have the blade, but can't get past the planning stages for the handle.
It should be antler, so that is one problem. One day I'll get around to it, I just don't have any wood working tools, so I feel like I am just hacking at wood each time I try.

A sgian-dubh is a Scottish dirk that is worn in the sock (aka hose). I have a fancy jewelled one but I'd really like a plain one such as:

Oh rito, just looking at the spelling of its name I thought it might have been some jungle bunny knife or one that injuns use. Plenty of bits of antler like those shown on ebay, cheap too, some are for dog chews others are points cut from antlers. It wouldnt be hard to drill down the middle and then just epoxy the blade in. But if you do want one with a wooden handle, I have some bits of mallee stick that could be made to fit, they are approx 1.5inches in diameter and could be shaved down some.

Every time we buy things at the pet supplies I rat through the antler box.
Then analysis paralysis sets in, with all the what if I do it this way thoughts...
