Can you guess my current DIY project

Post by 220 »

I think the old humpy one made his thread a bit to easy.
I started a project last weekend and have been taking photos of the progress I make each day I work on it.
This was the first days effort

Anyone want to have a guess at what is being built?

Hot smoker/bbq thingo like the yanks do :? :? Could also be cutting off sections to make up your own camp ovens, but that is unlikely. :D

A glove holder?

Nah, looks more like the makings of a still OR a very big flash suppressor

Set myself a budget of $50 for the build, so far I have spent $4.84 on a couple of thermometers. I'm trying to sconge everything else. Have the basic build sorted but need to find material for the cook shelves, a bit of expanded mesh or shelves out of a old fridge would be a good start.

That is looking good so far Sean. :D

Although, I think that at some stage in the future, you may get a little pissed off when you cant take the door off without the aid of an angle grinder. :?:

Love to see a muzzle brake or flash suppressor (in that size) show up at Little River. "You can have bench 550 up the far end"

Very nice Sean ill have to look up what an offset smoker is. What about old bbq grill for shelves? Too heavy? I take it the idea is cold smoked?

Looking solid enough to run a steam train!

You need to mount it on a trailer and bring it daisy picking next year. :D spits are so old fashioned.

Looks solid, never burn out the firebox.
A bloke up here has started a catering business with his slow cooker, also does the markets. Very tasty.
