Powder thingy

Post by kickinback »

I sold the chargemaster the other week and went to do some reloading last night for a Comp today. Let's just say I stayed home and started building my new powder thrower/trickler setup. I have looked at what's out there and the ducks guts is the Prometheus setup, but at over 5k in US spondulies I'll give it a miss.

This is the start of the trickler.

Waiting on a optical sensor, vibration unit and a few arduino electronic boards to arrive.

Started making a Culver style powder thrower to work in conjunction with the trickler today.

At the moment it will vibrate but if I'm not happy with it I have a nema8 stepper motor and driver to make the spout turn.

Excellent work but aren't you afraid that ADI will change the thread on their packaging?

I know if I had the skill to make that, with my luck, ADI would change their packaging immediately.

Notice the unthreaded section at the top? A polycarbonate tube wil slide into it.

I recently had 2 different powders on the bench and had to pull the projectile on on round just to make sure. Luckily for me there was a significant visual difference between the two. 43gr of 2207 in a 260 might not end well, hence the bottle screwing straight to the thrower.
