I take it you're not doing any deep water crossings with that in the field, you may need a snorkel.
Oh, I think the whole stock should be blued...because it can be.
Great work!

"If I'm gonna shoot a rifle off the bench for 200 rds a day, I want it to be heavy enough to soak up all the recoil and not have any muzzle jump."
It's in 17 Fireball. That must really be punishing his shoulder shooting 200rds a day!
It's almost cruel to shoot furry critters with something so ugly.

That's why they invented the 17HMR and Hm2 for just this type of pussy that cant handle the recoil of the big 17s

Re: Custom steel stock
When Roadkill61 was kind enough to let me spend a day putting rounds through his 20SCC at prairie dogs, the weight of the rifle and the lack of recoil meant that you didn't miss a second of the (very colourful) impact. Headshots where a case of a little pink cloud puffing into the breeze, and no head where the head used to be.Camel wrote:JD wrote:"If I'm gonna shoot a rifle off the bench for 200 rds a day, I want it to be heavy enough to soak up all the recoil and not have any muzzle jump."

So I was glad of the very low recoil, just to enjoy the show!
